Description
The DS1314E+ is a non-volatile controller with a battery monitor designed to convert CMOS RAM into non-volatile memory. It is equipped with a specialized CMOS process with low-leakage capabilities to enable precise voltage detection at extremely low battery consumption. It aims to solve the application problem of converting CMOS RAM into non-volatile memory. When incoming power experiences an out-of-tolerance condition, chip enable is inhibited to protect writing, and the battery is switched on to supply uninterrupted power to the RAM.

- Unconditional write-protection when VCC is out of tolerance
- Switches automatically to the backup battery supply during VCC power failure
- Monitors voltage of the lithium cell and provides advanced warning on impending battery failure
- Signals low-battery condition on active low Battery Warning output signal
- Automatic VCC power-fail detection for 3.0V or 3.3V power supplies
- Available in 8-pin DIP and SOIC packages, with optional 16-pin SOIC and 20-pin TSSOP versions available
- Reset processors when power failure occurs and hold processor in reset during system power-up
- Provides industrial temperature range of -40°C to +85°C
