Description
The DS1218S+TR is a CMOS circuit that solves the application problems of converting CMOS RAM into nonvolatile memory. It monitors incoming power for an out-of-tolerance condition and inhibits the chip enable output to accomplish write protection. It also switches on the battery to supply uninterrupted power to the RAM. With its low-leakage CMOS process and precise voltage detection, the DS1218S+TR achieves 10 years of nonvolatile RAM operation while consuming less than 100 na of battery current. It is packaged in an 8-pin mini DIP package, minimizing PC board real estate requirements.
