  • Description

    The DS1221 is a CMOS circuit designed for converting CMOS RAMs into nonvolatile memories. This Nonvolatile Controller x 4 Chip is capable of monitoring incoming power for an out-of-tolerance condition. It inhibits the chip enable outputs when such a condition is detected to provide write protection and switches on the battery for uninterrupted power supply to the RAMs. In addition, the chip also features an optional security code, which prevents unauthorized access to the memory space. The DS1221 boasts precise voltage detection at extremely low battery consumption through its low-leakage CMOS process. By combining the DS1221 with up to four CMOS memories and lithium batteries, nonvolatile operation can be achieved.
