The NCP1063 integrates a fixed frequency current mode controller with a 670 V MOSFET. The NCP1063 is available in a SOIC-16 package and offers a high level of integration including soft start, frequency jitter, short circuit protection, skip cycle, adjustable peak current set point, ramp compensation, and dynamic self-powering (no auxiliary winding required). Unlike other monolithic solutions, the NCP1063 has a noiseless feature: switching at some available frequency (65 or 100 kHz) during normal load operation. When the output power demand disappears, the IC automatically enters frequency foldback mode, providing excellent energy efficiency at light loads. When power demand is further reduced, it enters skip mode, reducing standby power consumption to no-load conditions. Protection features include a timer to detect overload or short-circuit events, overvoltage protection with automatic recovery, and AC input line voltage detection (version A). ON Semiconductor's proprietary integrated over-power protection (OPP) allows you to take full advantage of the maximum power provided through external resistors only, without compromising standby performance. the NCV1060/NCV1063 series can be used seamlessly in non-isolated and isolated topologies.
