Description

NCP1217AP10 is an enhanced PWM Current-Mode Controller for High-Power Universal Off-Line Supplies in the category of AC DC Converters and Offline Switchers. The controller comes housed in an SO−8 or PDIP−7 package and is an upgraded version of the NCP1203−based controllers. The NCP1217AP10 is designed to drive large gate−charge MOSFETs and ease the design of modern AC/DC adapters, offering a true alternative to UC384X−based designs. The device comes with built-in overvoltage protection, internal ramp compensation, and features a high drive capability.

Specifications and Features

The NCP1217AP10 comes with adjustable skip-cycle capability, internal 1.0 ms soft start (A Version Only), auto-recovery internal output short-circuit protection, and limited duty-cycle to 50% (A Version Only). With a 500 mA peak current capability, the device has fixed frequency versions at 65 kHz, 100 kHz, and 133 kHz. It comes with built-in internal ramp compensation, internal temperature shutdown, direct optocoupler connection, SPICE Models Available for TRANsient, and AC Analysis. The device has an extremely low no-load standby power and full latch-off if the adjustment pin is brought high. Pb-Free Packages are Available.
