Description
The TNY284DG is an offline switcher AC DC converter designed and produced by Power Integrations, Inc. It is suitable for various applications, such as appliances, industrial systems, metering, etc. and is ideal for use in PC standby, set-top decoders, charging adapters, and other low power devices.
Specifications and features
The TNY284DG comes with a 725V rated MOSFET, which increases the BV de-rating margin. Its line compensated overload power eliminates the need for additional components. The device reduces the max overload variation over the universal input voltage range, thanks to ±5% turn on UV threshold, which senses line voltage with a single external resistor. The switcher has no loop compensation needed, which makes its ON/OFF control simple. Through BP/M capacitor value, the device's current limit is selectable, with a higher current limit extending peak power or maximum continuous power in open-frame applications, while a lower current limit improves efficiency in enclosed adapters/chargers. The compact design of the switcher allows for appropriate and easy heat sinking to the PCB, which simplifies the entire process.
