Description
The MAX882EPA is a linear regulator that maximizes battery life by combining ultra-low supply currents and low dropout voltages. It features a 200mA output current capability at up to +125°C junction temperature. The MAX882EPA comes in a 1.5W SOIC package, allowing for a wider operating range for the input voltage and output current. Unlike earlier bipolar regulators, the MAX882EPA uses a P channel MOSFET pass transistor, resulting in lower supply currents and a reduced dropout voltage. The typical dropout voltages for the MAX882EPA are 220mV at 5V and 200mA, or 320mV at 3.3V and 200mA.
