Maxwell Technologies’ PDS-100B is a high-speed 12-bit analog-to-digital converter microcircuit designed for use in space missions. It has a total dose tolerance greater than 100 krad (Si) and consumes only 110 mW of power. The PDS-100B uses an accurate high-speed DAC and comparator to achieve fast conversion times as low as 5 µs. It is designed to be used with an external reference voltage, allowing users to choose a reference that suits their applications or drive multiple PDS-100Bs from a single system reference. The ADC has pin-selectable analog input ranges of 0 to +5V, 0 to +10V, or ±5V, making it ideal for data acquisition and analog input/output cards. The PDS-100B also features a high-speed digital interface with three state data outputs that is compatible with most microprocessors. It is packaged using Maxwell Technologies' patented RAD-PAK® technology, which provides radiation shielding for a lifetime in orbit or space mission. The PDS-100B is available with screening up to Class S.
