Description

The Fairchild Power Switch (FPS) product family, including the KA5H0165RTU model, is designed for off-line SMPS applications with minimal external components. It features a high voltage power SenseFET and a current mode PWM IC. The integrated PWM controller has a fixed oscillator, under voltage lock out, leading edge blanking, optimized gate turn-on/turn-off driver, thermal shutdown protection, over voltage protection, and temperature compensated precision current sources for loop compensation and fault protection circuitry. Compared to using discrete MOSFET and controller or RCC switching converter solution, the Fairchild Power Switch (FPS) can reduce the total component count, design size, weight, while improving efficiency, productivity, and system reliability. It is particularly suitable for cost-effective design of flyback converters.
