The YB1518ST26 is a step-up DC-DC converter that operates as a current source to drive up to 9 white LEDs. It can support different input voltages for different numbers of LEDs, providing uniform brightness without the need for ballast resistors. The YB1518ST26 switches at a fixed frequency of approximately 930KHz, allowing for the use of small inductors and capacitors to minimize footprint and cost. This makes it ideal for applications such as cellular phone backlighting and handheld equipment.
