Description
The LP3202-12B5F is a constant frequency, current mode, PWM step-down converter integrated circuit. It is designed for high efficiency, with a wide input voltage range of 2.5V to 5.5V, making it ideal for portable electronic devices powered by 1-cell Li-ion batteries or other power sources such as cellular phones, PDAs, and handy-terminals. The LP3202-12B5F features an internal synchronous rectifier with low RDS(ON) to reduce conduction loss, eliminating the need for an external Schottky diode. It operates at a fixed frequency of 1.5MHz, allowing for easy smoothing of switching ripple with small package filtering elements. The compact SOT-23-5 package further minimizes PCB area requirements. Additional features include soft start, lower internal reference voltage with 2% accuracy, over temperature protection, and over current protection.
