The AME8801 is a positive, linear regulator that is a part of the AME8801/8812/8840 family of low quiescent current (30mA typ.) regulators with low dropout voltage. It is ideal for battery-powered applications due to its rugged design with features such as Thermal Shutdown and Current Fold-back that prevent device failure under the worst operating conditions. The space-saving SOT-25/TSOT-25 & SOT-26/TSOT-26 packages are particularly attractive for pocket and handheld devices.
