Description

The APEXX-LIP is a low-cost voice and melody synthesizer IC chip that comes with a 4-bit CPU. It is equipped with various features, including 4-bit ALU, ROM, RAM, I/O ports, timers, clock generator, and PWM output. The audio synthesizer contains one voice channel and two melody channels and consists of 27 instructions in the device. This model with CMOS technology and a halt function can minimize power dissipation. Its architecture is similar to RISC with two stages of instruction pipeline. All instructions can be executed in a single cycle except for program branches and data table read instructions, which need two instruction cycles.
