Description
The AP1506T5RL is a monolithic IC from the AP1506 series, specifically designed for a step-down DC/DC converter. They have the ability to drive a 3A load without requiring an external transistor. The reduction in external components required saves board space. This IC has an external shutdown function, which can be controlled by logic level and set to standby mode. Additionally, the internal compensation makes feedback control have good line and load regulation without external design. The AP1506T5RL also has protected functions including thermal shutdown to prevent damage due to over-temperature operating, and current limit to prevent output switch operating under over-current conditions.
