The BCM5466R is a member of Broadcom’s QuadSquad™ family of quad Gigabit Ethernet PHYs. It is a single monolithic CMOS chip consisting of four complete 10/100/1000BASE-T Gigabit Ethernet transceivers. With advanced power management techniques and a DSP-based architecture, the BCM5466R can operate on existing Category 5 twisted-pair wiring while achieving robust and low-power operation. It is fully compliant with IEEE 802.3, IEEE 802.3u, and IEEE 802.3ab standards and maintains the industry's highest level of margin over IEEE requirements for echo, near-end crosstalk (NEXT), and far-end crosstalk (FEXT). Moreover, it has extremely low EMI emissions and supports CableChecker™ diagnostics.
