Description
The SA5205A is a member of the NE/SA/SE5205A family of wideband amplifiers, designed to replace the original NE/SA/SE5205 family. It is fabricated on a rugged 2µm bipolar process with excellent statistical process control. The electrical performance of the SA5205A is nominally identical to the original parts.
This high-frequency amplifier has a fixed insertion gain of 20dB and offers flat gain performance within ±0.5dB from DC to 450MHz. The -3dB bandwidth is greater than 600MHz in the EC package, making it ideal for cable TV applications. It is also available in industrial standard dual in-line and small outline packages for lower frequency applications.
The SA5205A operates with a single supply of 6V and draws only 24mA of supply current, which is significantly less than comparable hybrid parts. It has a noise figure of 4.8dB in a 75Ω system and 6dB in a 50Ω system.
