Through constant control of the magnetic flux in the sensor core, the NP3700PBIB-700 ensures that the flux is maintained at zero. The amount of current required to balance the zero flux is then used to measure the primary current flowing through the conductor, multiplied by the ratio of the primary to secondary windings. This closed loop current serves as the output from the device, providing an accurate representation of the primary current reduced by the number of secondary turns at any given time. Furthermore, this current can be expressed as a voltage by passing it through a resistor.
