Description
The SP3223EUCA-L is an RS-232 transceiver solution designed for portable or handheld applications such as notebook and palmtop computers. It is part of the "U" series, based on Sipex's SP3223E/3243E series, and has been enhanced for high speed. With a data rate of up to 1000kbps, it easily meets the demands of high-speed RS-232 applications.
The SP3223EUCA-L utilizes an internal high-efficiency, charge-pump power supply that only requires 0.1µF capacitors in 3.3V operation. This charge pump, combined with Sipex's driver architecture, enables the SP3223EUCA-L to deliver compliant RS-232 performance from a single power supply ranging from +3.0V to +5.5V.
The SP3223EUCA-L is available in two configurations: the 2-driver/2-receiver SP3223EU and the 3-driver/5-receiver SP3243EU. It is ideal for laptop/notebook computers and PDA applications. The SP3243EU includes one complementary receiver that can monitor an external device's Ring Indicate signal even when the device is shutdown.
