Description

The ST16C554CQ64 is a UART (Universal Asynchronous Receiver/Transmitter) component designed for serial communication. It has a dual-footprint interface and an enhanced UART with 16-byte FIFOs and data rates of up to 1.5Mbps. It also features onboard status registers that provide the user with error indications and operational status. This component is available in both 64-pin TQFP and 68-pin PLCC packages, with the latter having an additional 68 mode to allow easy integration with Motorola and other popular microprocessors. The ST16C554CQ64 also offers three-state interrupt control, unlike the ST16C554DCQ64, which provides constant active interrupt outputs.
