Description

The TOP209PN is an off-line switched mode control system that integrates all the necessary functions for an AC DC converter. It features a high voltage N-channel power MOSFET with a controlled turn-on gate driver, a voltage mode PWM controller with an integrated oscillator, a high voltage start-up bias circuit, a bandgap derived reference, and a bias shunt regulator/error amplifier for loop compensation and fault protection circuitry. This integrated circuit offers advantages over discrete MOSFET and controller solutions, including cost reduction, component count reduction, smaller size and weight, increased efficiency, and improved system reliability. The TOP209PN is designed for 100/110/230 VAC off-line power supply applications in the 0 to 8 W (0 to 5 W universal) range.
