    The MAX1874ETE-T is an electronic component designed for charging a single-cell Li+ battery from both USB and AC adapter sources. It features battery-to-input power switchover, allowing the system to be powered directly from the power source instead of the battery. The MAX1874ETE-T can operate with input voltages up to 6.5V, and additional overvoltage protection up to 18V can be added with a single SOT PFET. The charger includes on-chip thermal limiting for simplified PCB layout and optimal charging rate. When the thermal limit is reached, the charging current is reduced. The MAX1874ETE-T can monitor ambient or battery temperature with an external thermistor, pausing charging when the temperature is out of range. This component does not have built-in communication with the USB host and requires instructions from a local microcontroller. It comes in a 16-pin 5mm x 5mm thin QFN package and operates within a temperature range of -40°C to +85°C.
