Description
The ADSP-218xL series is a group of four single chip microcomputers optimized for digital signal processing applications. They are pin-compatible and differ only in the amount of on-chip SRAM. This allows for flexible design decisions. The series is code compatible with the ADSP-21xx family and offers up to 19 ns instruction cycle time and 52 MIPS sustained performance. It features a 3-bus architecture for dual operand fetches, as well as low power dissipation in idle mode. The ADSP-218xL series also has integration features such as up to 160K bytes of on-chip RAM, independent computational units, and a powerful program sequencer. It offers system interface features like a 16-bit internal DMA port, memory interface, and double-buffered serial ports.
