Description

The SP3220ET is an IC chip designed as an RS-232 driver/receiver solution for portable and hand-held applications such as palmtop or notebook computers. This device features a charge-pump power supply with high efficiency that necessitates only 0.1µF capacitors for a 3.3V operation. With this charge pump, the SP3220ET is capable of providing true RS-232 performance from a single power supply in the range of +3.3V to +5.0V. It has a low-power shutdown mode where driver outputs and charge pumps are disabled, consuming less than 1µA of supply current.
