Description
The 5649A is an IC chip model in the electronic component category. It belongs to the RS5RJ series, which is a step-up DC/DC converter IC equipped with a voltage regulator (VR) and a voltage detector (VD) by CMOS process. The IC consists of a VFM DC/DC converter, a linear regulator, and a voltage detector. It functions as a linear regulator when the input voltage is high and as a step-up DC/DC converter + linear regulator when the input voltage is low. It is designed with an inductor, a diode, and a capacitor as external parts. The IC also includes a built-in voltage detector, allowing for the monitoring of potentials such as the output voltage of the DC/DC converters. Its chip enable function enables the turning off of internal circuits, minimizing standby current. This makes it suitable for battery-powered and hand-held instruments.

- Output Voltage can be set at User's request (refer to Selection Guide)
- Voltage close to battery's voltage can be output because these ICs are of a step-up / step-down type. For example, a fixed voltage of 3V can be output by a 3V battery

- Pin for External Driver is equipped, and a large current output can be obtained
