Description
The LM2594DADJR2G is a monolithic integrated circuit designed for easy and convenient design of a step-down switching regulator (buck converter). It is capable of driving a 0.5 A load with excellent line and load regulation. This device is available in an adjustable output version and is internally compensated to minimize the number of external components required for power supply design. Its efficiency is significantly higher compared to popular three-terminal linear regulators, especially with higher input voltages. The LM2594 operates at a switching frequency of 150 kHz, allowing for smaller-sized filter components compared to lower frequency switching regulators. It is available in both a standard 8-Lead PDIP and 8-Lead Surface Mount packages. The LM2594 also features a guaranteed 4% tolerance on output voltage within specified input voltages and output load conditions, and 15% on the oscillator frequency. It includes external shutdown with 50 A (typical) standby current and self-protection features such as switch cycle-by-cycle current limit and thermal shutdown.Specifications and features
