Description

Electronic Component Model: PM5342-BGI is a monolithic SONET/SDH PAYLOAD EXTRACTOR/ALIGNER designed for use in STS-1 (STM-0/AU3), STS-3 (STM-1/AU3), or STS-3c (STM-1/AU4) interface applications. It operates at serial interface speeds of up to 155.52 Mbit/s and provides integrated clock recovery and clock synthesis for direct interface to optical modules. The device offers termination for SONET Section and Line, SDH Regenerator Section, and Multiplexer Section transport overhead, as well as path overhead for one or three STS-1 (STM-0/AU3) paths or a single STS-3c (STM-1/AU4) path. It also features mapping of STS-1 (STM-0/AU3) payloads or a single STS-3c (STM-1/AU4) payload to system timing reference, accommodating plesiochronous timing offsets through pointer processing. Moreover, it supports clear-channel mapping of DS3 bit streams, arbitrary data streams, and Packet Over SONET applications. The device includes various interfaces, such as line loopback, diagnostic loopback, JTAG test port, and a microprocessor bus interface for configuration, control, and status monitoring. It is a low power component operating at +5 Volt CMOS and comes in a 256 pin Super BGA package. It supports Industrial Temperature Range (-40°C to 85°C) operation.
