Description
The µPD6461GS is a CMOS LSI chip designed to provide on-screen character display for camcorders. It is used in combination with a microcontroller to control the display of characters in the viewfinder and the recording of characters onto video tape. Each character is created using 12x18 dots, and it is capable of displaying Kanji characters and graphic symbols. This chip is compatible with color viewfinders and can output character signals to three channels for the recording system and monitor terminal.
In addition, the µPD6461GS features a power-on clear function and video RAM batch clear command, which reduces the workload of the microcontroller.

- Interface with a microcontroller: 8-bit serial input supporting variable word length
- Supply voltage: Low-voltage operation possible (2.7 to 5.5 V)
