Description
The HYNIX S0817M is a non-volatile Flash memory that uses NAND cell technology. It operates at both 3.3V and 1.8V voltage supply. The device comes with a Page size of either 528 Bytes (512 + 16 spare) or 264 Words (256 + 8 spare), depending on the bus width of either x8 or x16. This multiplexed x8 or x16 Input/ Output bus reduces the pin count and allows for easy migration to other densities without changing the footprint.
With a lifetime of over 100,000 cycles, each block of the S0817M can be programmed and erased multiple times. To ensure the longevity of NAND Flash devices, it is recommended to implement an Error Correction Code (ECC). Additionally, a Write Protect pin is provided for hardware protection against program and erase operations. The device also features an open-drain Ready/Busy output, which can be used to determine if the PER Controller is currently active. Multiple Ready/Busy pins can be connected to a single pull-up resistor.
To optimize the management of defective blocks, the S0817M offers a Copy Back command. This allows for data to be programmed in another page if a Page Program operation fails, eliminating the need to resend the data.
