The MPX4250A/MPXA4250A series Manifold Absolute Pressure (MAP) sensor is a pressure sensor designed to sense the absolute air pressure within the intake manifold. This measurement can be used to compute the amount of fuel required for each cylinder. It is specifically designed for intake manifold absolute pressure sensing in engine control systems. The sensor has a maximum error of 1.5% over a temperature range of 0°C to 85°C. It features a patented silicon shear stress strain gauge and is temperature compensated over a wide range of -40°C to +125°C. The sensor also offers a reduction in weight and volume compared to existing hybrid modules. It is available in a durable epoxy unibody element or thermoplastic small outline, surface mount package.
