The N8259A-2 is a programmable interrupt controller designed to handle up to eight vectored priority interrupts for the CPU. It is cascadable, allowing for up to 64 vectored priority interrupts without the need for additional circuitry. This IC chip is packaged in a 28-pin DIP and utilizes NMOS technology. It operates on a single +5-V supply and features static circuitry, eliminating the need for a clock input.
