Description
The 82B715 is a bipolar integrated circuit designed for use in I2C bus systems. It provides buffering for both the data (SDA) and the clock (SCL) lines, allowing for extended practical separation distances between components on the bus. The I2C bus is typically limited to communication distances of a few meters due to the capacitance limit of 400pF. However, by using the 82B715 at each end of longer cables, the cable loading capacitance on the bus can be reduced by a factor of 10, enabling the use of low-cost general-purpose wiring to extend bus lengths.
