The LT1512IS8#PBF is a 500kHz current mode switching regulator designed for battery management. It is specifically configured to create a constant-current/constant-voltage battery charger. The LT1512IS8#PBF features a current sense feedback circuit that allows accurate control of the output current in a flyback or SEPIC topology charger. This topology allows the current sense circuit to be ground referred and separated from the battery, simplifying battery switching and system grounding issues. It also enables charging even when the input voltage is lower than the battery voltage. With a maximum switch current of 1.5A, the LT1512IS8#PBF can support battery charging currents up to 1A for a single lithium-ion cell. It offers 1% voltage accuracy in constant-voltage mode, making it ideal for lithium battery applications. The charging current can be easily programmed for different battery types.
