The AMI204 is a micro-stepping stepper motor driver designed for bipolar stepper motors. It features a dual H-bridge and a programmable peak-current of up to 800mA using a 5-bit current DAC. The chip has an integrated current translator and a SPI interface for easy connectivity with an external microcontroller. It also provides a "speed and load angle" output, allowing for the implementation of stall detection algorithms and step loss detection. The AMI204 utilizes a proprietary PWM algorithm for reliable current control and offers seven step modes from full-step up to 32 micro-steps.
