Description
S6A0079D0 is a dot matrix LCD driver & controller LSI which is fabricated by low power CMOS technology. It can display 2, or 4 lines with 5 x 8 dots format. It has internal memory including Character Generator ROM (CGROM) of 9,600 bits (240 characters x 5 x 8 dot), Character Generator RAM (CGRAM) of 64 x 8 bits (8 characters x 5 x 8 dot), Icon RAM (CGRAM) of 16 x 8 bits (80 icons max.), and Display Data RAM (DDRAM) of 96 x 8 bits (96 characters max.). It operates at low power with a power supply voltage range of 2.7 - 5.5V (VDD) and an LCD drive voltage range of 3.0 - 13.0V (VDD - V5). It utilizes a CMOS process and has a duty cycle of 1/33. It also features an internal oscillator with an external resistor and is available as a bare chip.
