Description
The L4974 is a step down monolithic power switching regulator that delivers a maximum output current of 3.5A and has a variable output voltage ranging from 5.1V to 40V. It is realized with BCD mixed technology and utilizes a DMOS output transistor for high efficiency and fast switching times. The L4974 also features reset and power fail functions for microprocessors, feed-forward line regulation, soft start, current limiting, and thermal protection. This device is mounted in a Powerdip16 + 2 + 2 plastic package and requires minimal external components. Its efficient operation at switching frequencies up to 200KHz enables the reduction in size and cost of external filter components.
