Description
The SC16C554IB64 is a high performance UART (Universal Asynchronous Receiver Transmitter) electronic component. It is designed to provide programmable negative voltages for LCD bias contrast applications, with a maximum efficiency of 90%. The input voltage range is 4V to 24V, allowing it to be powered directly by a battery pack. It can generate output voltages up to -40V with the use of external resistors. The SC16C554IB64 features a pulse frequency modulation scheme to maintain high efficiency conversion, a low quiescent current of about 100µA, and a power-saving shutdown mode with a quiescent current of 8µA. Its switching frequency range is 100kHz to 320kHz, making it suitable for battery-powered portable equipment such as notebook and palmtop computers.
