Description
This is the MIC2589R-1BM electronic component model and it falls under the category of hot swap controllers. It is a single-channel, negative voltage controller that is designed to ensure the safe insertion and removal of circuit boards into "live" system backplanes with the use of very few external components. It is available in 14-pin SOIC packaging and works with an external N-Channel MOSFET for which gate drive is controlled to provide inrush current limiting and output voltage slew-rate control. The overcurrent threshold and duration are programmable, and very fast fault response is provided to ensure that system power supplies maintain regulation even during output short circuits.
