The SI2456-KTR is a global evaluation board designed to evaluate the SI2493/57/34/15/04 ISOmodem®. It provides an easy way for system designers to assess the features and capabilities of the SI2493/57/34/15/04 ISOmodem. The board comes with a motherboard equipped with a power supply, RS-232 and USB interfaces, and other convenience features. It also includes a removable modem module on a daughter card. The SI2493/57/34/15/04 ISOmodem is a complete controller-based modem chipset with an integrated and programmable direct access arrangement (DAA) that meets global telephone line requirements. It eliminates the need for separate components such as a DSP data pump, modem controller, memories, codec, isolation transformer, relays, opto-isolators, and a 2- to 4-wire hybrid. With its small board area, low power consumption, and global compliance, the SI2493/57/34/15/04 is ideal for embedded modem applications. The SI2456-KTR evaluation board includes an RJ-11 jack for phone line interfacing, as well as USB and RS232 serial ports for PC or data terminal connectivity. It can be used as a serial modem for easy evaluation or integrated with an embedded system using the daughter card.
