Description
The LT1086 is a 3-terminal adjustable or fixed electronic component model designed to provide 1.5A with higher efficiency than currently available devices. It operates down to a 1V input-to-output differential, and the dropout voltage is fully specified as a function of load current. The on-chip trimming adjusts the reference/output voltage to 1%, and the current limit is also trimmed to minimize stress on both the regulator and power source circuitry under overload conditions. It is pin compatible with older 3-terminal adjustable regulators and requires a 10µF output capacitor, which is usually included in most regulator designs. It is offered in a 2.85V output version for SCSI-2 active termination and has surface mount applications available.
