Description
The HMC172QS24 is a low-cost SP6T switch in a 24-lead QSOP package. It is designed for various applications such as antenna diversity, switched filter banks, gain/attenuation selection, and general channel multiplexing. This switch can control signals up to 2.5 GHz and is particularly suitable for 800-1000 MHz and 1700-2000 MHz basestation applications.
One of the key features of this switch is the integrated 3:6 decoder. It replaces the need for 12 control lines typically required by GaAS SP6T switches. With only 3 control lines and a negative bias, each RF path can be selected. The switch outputs are reflective shorts when in the "off" state.
In terms of package, the HMC172QS24 is packaged in a QSOP24 package, which occupies the same area as a 14-lead SOIC. For a positive bias/TTL SP6T version, refer to the HMC252QS24.
