Description

The AD8497ARMZ is a precision thermocouple amplifier with integrated cold junction compensators. It produces a high-level output (5mV/°C) directly from the thermocouple signal by combining an ice point reference with a pre-calibrated amplifier. It can operate as both a standalone thermometer and a switched output setpoint controller, utilizing either a fixed or remote setpoint control. This amplifier can be powered by a single-ended supply (3 volts) and can measure temperatures below zero degrees Celsius by offsetting the reference input to produce a precise and accurate temperature output. The AD8497 typically operates with a total supply current of 180A to minimize self-heating but can also deliver more than 5mA to a load. Additionally, this amplifier has been specifically laser trimmed to match the properties of K-type thermocouples and can interface directly with lower supply Analog-to-Digital Converters (ADCs).
