- Clock, reset, and supply management: The US5M features an internal low voltage supervisor (LVD) for reliable power-on/-off start-up procedures. It offers various clock sources, including an internal trimmable 8 MHz RC oscillator, an internal low power, low-frequency RC oscillator, or an external clock. Additionally, it provides 5 power-saving modes: Halt, auto wake-up from halt, active halt, wait, and slow.
- Interrupt management: The US5M has 11 interrupt vectors plus TRAP and reset. It is equipped with 5 external interrupt lines on 5 vectors.
- I/O ports: The US5M offers 5 multifunctional bidirectional I/O lines, 1 additional output line, 6 alternate function lines, and 5 high sink outputs.
- Timers: It includes 2 timers - one 8-bit lite timer with a prescaler, including watchdog, 1 real-time base, and 1 input capture, and one 12-bit auto-reload timer with output compare function and PWM.
- A/D converter: The US5M features a 10-bit resolution A/D converter for 0 to VDD with 5 input channels.
- Instruction set: It utilizes an 8-bit data manipulation instruction set with 63 basic instructions that include illegal opcode detection. Additionally, it has 17 main addressing modes and an 8 x 8 unsigned multiply instruction.
- Development tools: The US5M is accompanied by a full hardware/software development package and includes a debug module.
