The SP206EP is a multi-channel RS-232 line transceiver designed to fit most communication needs in electronic circuits. This IC chip belongs to the SP200 Series, which features a low-power CMOS construction and Sipex patented (5,306,954) on-board charge pump circuitry that generates the ±10V RS-232 voltage levels, using 0.1µF charge pump capacitors to save board space and reduce circuit cost. The SP206EP model is among the models from this series that feature a low-power shutdown mode, which reduces power supply drain to 1µA. It is equipped with a WakeUp function that keeps the receivers active in the shutdown mode.
