Description
NB88F5180 is a dual SATA I/II embedded storage processor designed for applications requiring advanced data protection, performance, and capacity. It supports RAID 0/1/JBOD modes and provides serial ATA port multiplier capabilities of up to 15 SATA drives per chip. This chip is intended for implementation in network attached storage (NAS) devices, digital video recorders (DVRs), IP storage gateways, network appliances, and other storage applications requiring high-performance and high-capacity storage solutions. It incorporates an ARM926EJ-S core running at speeds up to 500MHz, with 16K instruction cache, 16K data cache, and MMU. The ARM core is coupled with a high-performance XOR engine, providing high-speed XOR calculation for RAID XOR functions. This chip is fabricated in 90nm C-MOS technology and operates with DDR2 memory.
