The LUCL8560EP-D is a full-feature, low-power subscriber line interface circuit (SLIC) optimized for low power consumption while providing an extensive set of features. This electronic component is ideal for ISDN terminal adapter applications, pair gain, cable telephony, and PBX, DLC, or CO applications.

- Auxiliary input for second battery, with an internal switch to enable power-saving in short telephone loops
- 5V only operation or optional ±5V operation for reduced power consumption
- Low active power (85mW typical) and scan power (61mW typical) with 5V only operation, and low active power (68mW typical with auxiliary battery) and scan power (45mW typical) with ±5V operation
- Quiet tip/ring polarity reversal
- Per-line ringing available for short loops
- Supports meter pulse injection
- Distortion-free full duplex from 0mA dc loop current on-hook transmission
- Convenient operating states: forward powerup, polarity reversal powerup, forward sleep, ground start, and disconnect
- Adjustable supervision functions: off-hook detector with longitudinal rejection, ground key detector with longitudinal rejection, and ring trip detector
- Independent, adjustable dc and ac parameters: dc feed resistance (44-pin PLCC version), loop current limit, and termination impedance
