The SP3238EECY is an RS-232 transceiver solution designed for portable or hand-held applications such as notebook and palmtop computers. It incorporates an internal high-efficiency charge-pump power supply, which only requires 0.1µF capacitors when operated at 3.3V. This device can deliver compliant RS-232 performance using a single power supply ranging from +3.0V to +5.0V. It is a 5-driver/3-receiver device, making it ideal for laptop/notebook computer and PDA applications. Additionally, it features an AUTO ON-LINE® circuitry that automatically wakes up the device when an RS-232 cable is connected and a connected peripheral is turned on. When not in use, it automatically shuts itself down, drawing less than 1µA.Specifications and Features
