Description
The RS5RM5021B-T1 is a step-up DC/DC converter IC equipped with a voltage regulator (VR) and a voltage detector (VD) by CMOS process. It is an output-voltage-fixed type regulator that functions as a linear regulator when the input voltage is high and as a step-up DC/DC converter+linear regulator when the input voltage is low. The IC requires external parts such as an inductor, a diode, and a capacitor to operate.

• Standby Mode: Istandby=MAX. 1.0µA (RS5RM××××A), Istandby=MAX. 10.0µA (RS5RM××××B)
• Low Voltage Operation Possible: Operating Voltage VIN=1.2V to 10V
• High Output Voltage Accuracy: Fixed Output Voltage Accuracy ±2.5%
• High Voltage Detection Accuracy: ±2.5%
• Output Voltage can be set at Users' request (refer to Selection Guide)
• Step-up/step-down type: Can output voltage close to battery's voltage
• Soft Start Function, built-in Protection Circuits for Lx Driver

Comparison
The RS5RM5021B-T1 has the advantage of being an output-voltage-fixed type regulator which ensures a high output voltage accuracy of ±2.5%. It also has a low supply current of only 55µA and can operate in a low voltage range of 1.2V to 10V. Additionally, it has built-in protection circuits and a soft start function for safe and reliable operation. However, it requires external parts and is available in a small 8pin SOP package.
