Description
The SA57000-25D is a low dropout regulator, known as CapFREE, which eliminates the need for external capacitors in its operation. With a low output noise voltage of 30 µVRMS and an ultra-low dropout voltage of 55 mV at 50 mA output current, this regulator is designed for high-density layouts. It is packaged in the small footprint 5 leaded SOT23-5 (SO5) package and is well-suited for portable and cellular phone applications.

The SA57000-25D offers several features:
- CapFREE: No output capacitor needed, stable for all capacitive loads, regardless of ESR
- Low 30 µVRMS noise without noise bypass capacitor
- Preset output voltages: 2.5 V, 2.8 V, 3.0 V, 3.3 V, and 3.6 V (other voltages available upon request), with 2% output voltage accuracy
- Maximum output current of 150 mA with current limitation
- Typical dropout voltage of 55 mV at 50 mA output current
- Typical ground current of 85 µA
- Thermal-overload and short-circuit protection
- PWROK pin: both power status and thermal warning indicator
- PWRON pin offers logic-controlled shutdown
- Maximum line regulation of 0.1%/V
- Maximum load regulation of 0.02%/mA
