Description
The Atmel ATmega48-20MU is an 8-bit low power CMOS microcontroller based on the AVR enhanced RISC architecture. It is a part of the ATmega48/88/168 series of microcontrollers produced by Atmel. This microcontroller has 23 programmable input/output (I/O) lines and operates on an operating voltage range of 1.8V to 5.5V.
Specifications and features
The ATmega48-20MU is equipped with powerful instructions that can be executed in a single clock cycle to achieve throughput approaching 1 MIPS per MHz. It has 32 x 8 general purpose working registers and supports fully static operation. The microcontroller also features up to 20 MIPS throughput at 20 MHz and has an on-chip 2-cycle multiplier.
In terms of memory segments, the ATmega48-20MU has 4 Kbytes of in-system self-programmable flash program memory, 512 bytes internal SRAM, and 256 bytes EEPROM. It has 10,000 flash/100,000 EEPROM write/erase cycles and can retain data for 20 years at 85°C/100 years at 25°C. The microcontroller also has optional boot code section with independent lock bits.
Additionally, the ATmega48-20MU supports QTouch library, which allows for capacitive touch buttons, sliders, and wheels and has up to 64 sense channels. Peripheral features include two 8-bit timer/counters, one 16-bit timer/counter, a real-time counter with a separate oscillator, six PWM channels, an 8-channel 10-bit ADC, and a byte-oriented 2-wire serial interface (Philips I2C compatible). It also has a master/slave SPI serial interface, programmable serial USART, on-chip analog comparator, and interrupt and wake-up on pin change.
