Description
The SC8801G3 is a 16x16 synchronous serial crosspoint switch integrated circuit (IC) chip. It is designed to operate with the VSC870 backplane transceiver, creating a high-performance switching system with an aggregate bandwidth of 32Gb/s. The switch chip enables the transmission of the master word clock and master cell clock to all port cards through the serial data channels. The transceivers automatically perform bit alignment, word alignment, and cell alignment with the switch chip.
